let me say this please. i was thinking how much i admire you for keeping close to your dad, even with his awful wife around. Because it would be difficult even if she wasn't such a monster. But you persevere and you are strong, so hats off to you.
what a cutie. i have this b&w (sepia) dealy of my dad as an infant on the mantle. . .it's so weird how faces never change. i look at it and log all the disappointments my dad's been for me and just get all sad because, well, when you're a baby, it's not your fault yet that you were going to make all kinds of bad choices based on your own parents' stupid alcoholic issues based on their parents' whatever it was that f-ed everyone up through the generations. and, well, so cute and innocent.

that is a great picture! u can tell he's smiling even from behind!
how great that you still have your dad's picture! I haven't even seen my dad for years, nor do I have his picture when he was still a kid
